Uttar Pradesh
Technical University (UPTU) is a public university in the Indian state of Uttar
Pradesh set up by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on May 8, 2000. To reduce
workload and to ensure proper management, the university was bifurcated into
separate universities: Gautam Buddha Technical University and Mahamaya
Technical University with effect from May 1, 2010. But in 2013 as new
government came into power this university was again formed by combining Gautam
Buddha Technical University and Mahamaya Technical University on January 5,
2013.
According to the
university's website, it is the biggest technical university in Asia. It had
approximately 800 colleges affiliated to it. The university is on the IET
Lucknow campus. Additionally, the university had a Centre and Regional Office
in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, which was retained by Mahamaya Technical University.
Uttar Pradesh
Technical University (UPTU) was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh
on 8 May 2000 (vide Act No. 1248 (2)XVII-V-I-I-19-2000 Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam
Sankhya 23 of 2000). Under the University Act, 'Technical Education' includes
programmes of education, research and training in engineering, technology,
architecture, town planning, pharmacy, applied arts and crafts and such other
programmes and areas that the central government may declare by notification in
the Gazette in consultation with All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE). The university was bifurcated into the Mahamaya Technical University
and Gautam Buddha Technical University as of May 1, 2010 for better management
of education in the state.On 05/01/2013 the uttar pradesh government has
decided to merge GBTU and MTU to bring back the original form of UPTU. On
31/10/2013, GBTU and MTU finally merged up back to UPTU, the university with
the maximum number of Colleges affiliated to it, in India.

The entrance
examination for degree level engineering institutions and other professional
colleges has been assigned to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow by
Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. Further, the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Technical
Education Department, has consented for the constitution of Central Admission
Board (CAB) under the Chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Uttar Pradesh
Technical University, Lucknow to supervise and control the State Entrance
Examination herein after referred as UPSEE-2014 being conducted by Uttar
Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. The CAB has absolute rights for
conducting UPSEE-2014, and to decide about modalities of admissions and
allotment of seats. The jurisdiction of CAB extends to colleges / institutes
affiliated to UPTU, Lucknow. The CAB is authorised to take every decision
regarding conduct and admissions through UPSEE-2014.

to release on JUNE 1st about 1.87 lakhs students are waiting for
this results
