As Per jntuk, Academic Regulations Total No. of credits required for promotion from Third year to Fourth year
◘ A Regular student must secure 76 credits from regular & supplementary exams of I year, II year & III year Examinations for  promotion into IV year from III year.. 
ESTIMATED PROMOTION RULES, for promotion from Third year to Fourth year:PRELIMINARY INFO  
RULE 1:
50 credits[Note:This may be increased +4 to +6  credits based on pass percentage of 2013-2014]are required to be secured from all the exams (both regular and supplementary)conducted upto December 2013,including the performances in III B.Tech-I Sem Exam... 
RULE 2:
61 credits [Note:This may be increased +4 to +6  credits based on pass percentage of 2013-2014]are required to be secured from all the exams(both regular and supplementary)conducted upto june 2014,including the performances in III B.Tech.-II SemExam.  
RULE 3:
40% credits secured from all the exams (both regular and`supplementary) conducted upto Nov / Dec 2013, including the performances in III B.Tech.-I Sem Regular Exam. (any fraction in the
credits to be rounded to the higher integer).
FOR LATERAL ENTRY STUDENTS:
◘ A LATERAL ENTRY student must secure 57credits from regular & supplementary exams  II year & III year Examinations for promotion into IV year from III year.. 
RULE 1:
35 credits[Note:This may be increased +4 to +6  credits based on pass percentage of 2013-2014]are required to be secured from all the exams (both regular and supplementary)conducted upto December 2013,including the performances in III B.Tech-I Sem Exam... 
RULE 2:
46 credits [Note:This may be increased +4 to +6  credits based on pass percentage of 2013-2014]are required to be secured from all the exams(both regular and supplementary)conducted upto june 2014,including the performances in III B.Tech.-II SemExam.
RULE 3: 40% credits secured from all the exams (both regular and`supplementary) conducted upto Nov / Dec 2013, including the performances in III B.Tech.-I Sem Regular Exam. (any fraction in the
credits to be rounded to the higher integer).
